Unwitting and eager,
I said yes too soon.
I complied as expected;
I did what I thought I had to.
I was just a child then,
and you appeared as a boon
by proxy out of nowhere
at a time when I needed you.
I needed you the most.
I couldn’t have known
of your insatiable appetite,
but I tried to keep up,
always knowing
and knowing it wasn’t right.
Our bodies were changing,
but your shape was full.
I held your tongue in my mouth,
but your taste was dull.
Like a predator, you descended
upon your supple prey;
you gnashed at my flesh
and held my prepubescent body splayed.
I held in my breathe
and awaited sweet release.
Bloated and ugly,
the nightmare will cease;
the pain will subside;
and I will retreat.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
I climbed out your window
and made my way home.
I glanced at my watch,
and my wrist showed the bone.
I peeled off the mask from
my face that you’d sewn,
ripping the flesh from
the scab that had grown.
Crippled and bloodied,
I was not my own.
Under the crushing
weight of the millstone,
effete and flaccid,
I fell prostrate and prone
with no pulse in my chest
but your hand on my anklebone.
I’m not who you think I am.

Gentle sunset
hanging low,
basking in the
orange glow,
we are young,
and we don’t know
we should take
each moment slow.
We kissed and fumbled
in parked cars.
Our skin exposed
revealed the marks.
We pressed together,
forming sparks
that burned so slowly
in the dark.
One arm wrapped
around your side,
I lie and listen
for your sigh.
Beneath the glow
of the streetlights,
I close my eyes
and feel all right.
I will never give up hope.
I will never let this go.
I just wanted you to know
we don’t have to be alone.
Take me home.

different stuff like that -- you need look no further whatsoever.
A Real Echoey Approach is yet another project from the fertile mind of Dylan Beck (Heidi Klum's Bangs, Carlo dell'Aquila), whose aim is to conjure inexplicable beauty in fragments of noise.
